Registrars

A registrar is a company you buy domain names from. This page is your list of the ones you use.

Recording them means every domain in your portfolio can say where it came from, which is the answer to "who do I renew this with" when you have collected domains from several places over the years.

The same registrar can appear twice

Nothing stops two entries with the same name. They are separate records, and domains assigned to one are not assigned to the other.

Usually this happens when a registrar is added again rather than the existing entry being reused. It is untidy rather than harmful, and worth tidying up if you find it: reassign the domains to one entry, then delete the other.

What a registrar record does not do

It is a label, not a connection. Flexi Domains does not sign in to your registrar, cannot see your account there, and cannot buy, renew or transfer anything on your behalf. Registration and renewal stay with the registrar.

The connection that lets Flexi Domains do real work is a provider connection, which is a different thing entirely, gives access to DNS rather than to domain registration, and is set up by administrators on your account.
