Flexi Domains 1.0 Help

Import domains from a file

Adds many domains at once from a spreadsheet. Useful when you are moving an existing portfolio in rather than adding domains one at a time.

Get there from Upload on the Domain names page.

The file

CSV or ODS, up to 10 MB. The upload screen has a Download Template File button, and starting from that template is the easiest way to get the columns right.

Column

Required

Notes

Domain Name

Yes

The full domain, for example example.com

Expiration Date

No

YYYY-MM-DD

Ownership Date

No

YYYY-MM-DD

Estimated Value

No

Accepted in the file and ignored on import

Estimated Value is listed because the template has the column and a file containing it will not be rejected. Nothing is stored from it.

The default registrar

You choose one registrar, and every domain in the file is assigned to it. The file has no per-domain registrar column.

So if your portfolio spans several registrars, either import one file per registrar, or import everything under one and correct the others afterwards by editing them. One file per registrar is usually less work.

The registrar has to exist before you import. Add it on the Registrars page first.

Domains you already have

Two options on the upload screen decide what happens when the file contains a domain that is already in your portfolio. See Duplicate handling.

While it runs

The import reports progress, then shows a summary of what was added, updated and skipped. Read the summary rather than assuming everything landed: a row with a malformed name or an unparseable date is reported there.
